i hav medium brown hair but i have dyed it many times..at the moment it is light brown and i have some blonde highlights..they arent like pale blonde..they are more of a sandy blonde..i was wondering what would happen if i put lemon juice on my hightlights..

It might lighten your hair a little, but will also damage it. If you have dyed it so many times, it is already pretty damaged--imagine how dry and brittle it will be after a few strong doses of citric acid. Your highlights are the most damaged part of your hair already.

i did that b4 i went to the pool and my hair turned out great

but im not sure about your hair type so ask a friend b4 you do it

It will make your highlights lighter and if you don't have highlights it will give you highlights.

I 'think' you'd have to also go out into the sun for a while after you put on the lemon juice, and your hair will become lighter.
