Help fix my botched hair dye job!?

i have naturally medium brown hair. it's brown, but with lots of pretty yellow and red highlights. since spring is coming, i decided to lighten it, just a couple shades for a slight difference. the color on the box was this really pretty honey color, but when all was said and done, my hair came out nearly BLACK! it's AWFUL! what happend and how can i fix this?

Well best advice you can take would to go and see a hair colorist at the salon. Obviously the chemicals reacted in a negative way. Or if your a guy just shave it and start over it will come back.

Whatever you do, don't try and fix it yourself. Go to a salon and have them fix it for you.

I閳ユ獡 not sure how it閳ユ獨 possible that a lighter color darkened your natural hair color, but the best bet at this point would be: call the manufacturer閳ユ獨 hotline, make sure you have all the info such as the color number you used. In order to get the dark stuff out, you will need to lift off the color, the safest way to do it is to see a pro at a salon, but it will set you back by $50 or more. You can try this yourself by buying the products at Sally Beauty Supply, but you can only damage it more, so it閳ユ獨 best if you have someone else do that for you. Good luck!

Try washing it a few times in dishwashing liquid. You may even add a little vinegar, but be sure to condition it well. This will help get the dye out, hopefully. If not, definitely see a colorist. Good luck!

I was blond, and went dark because as women do, I fancied a change, I hated it, but after 2 go's with the same colour blond die I was able to get back to being my original colour.(I've now gone back to dark again and managed to stick with it for a while)..lol Either that or you could visit a hairdresser/barber, I cant tell if you're male or female from your name, but if you are male then use womens dye, they're far better than mens, I dye my husbands greying hair for him with women's hairdye as it does the job better than mens dye's, they're permanent and there's a far bigger and better range of colours etc...in womens dyes....give it a try, it cant be any worse...

This has happened to me before. The best way to lighten it up is to go buy a hair frosting kit at CVS. I use l'oreal. Make sure it is for HIGHLIGHTS/FROSTING. (the kind that has a cap, or you paint on). Get the blondest color available.

Instead of painting it on, just slather it on your whole head. It works pretty quick...20 min or so should do the trick....every 5 minutes, wash a small strand off to see how the color is coming.

there is color remover on the same aisle with the hair dyes. If you have long hair it may take 2 boxes. It fixed my blonde daughter who dyed her hair dark brown. after you remove the color it'll look red or orange. just re dye it to a shade close to if not the same as your natural color.
