L'oreal Crystal Wax is better than any gel. I'ts about four pounds for a little tub, very shiny, rigid but not hard, no crusty flakes ever, and available everywhere.

I have a guy friend that actually used school glue and gel mixed together for his "fo-hawk" and he says it's the best way for it to last all day and suggests it to any guy with any hair gel need. So as weird as it sounds, he swears by it, and it washes out absolutely fine! Good luck with your hair!

Bed Head's Head Shrink. My husband has gone through so many gels and that seems to be the only one that will keep his hair stiff in place, plus it gives his hair a shiny almost wet look. He's in the military so he has to wear a hat alot, and if he lets the gel dry first, he can wear his hat for hours without it doing anything to his hair. Plus if he were to take a nap or something, his hair will still be the same when he gets up....no bedhead. I think that says enough about it.
