Best shampoo/conditioner for my hair?

I have medium brown hair with caramel highlights. It is somewhat long. It is naturally straight with alittle wave so I straighten it everyday. It has ALOT of split ends and it gets frizzy at times. I want my hair to be SMOOTH, no split ends, SILKY and shiney. What do you think would be the best shampoo/conditioner for my hair. Also what creams and spray could be applied? I currently use garnier fructis and although its ok, i want something thats going to really work. Ideas?? Thankss!! (No budget)

Best shampoo/conditioner for my hair?

Shampoo--Aveda Smooth Infusion.

Why?

It is a plant-based shampoo that does not contain sodium ingredients (like just about every other shampoo out there). Go to your bathroom right now and check the ingredients label on the back of every shampoo you own. See if the word sodium appears anywhere.

Sodium will strip your hair from moisture.

It will strip your hair from proteins.

With this shampoo you won't even need a conditioner.

For a conditioner I recommend Pureology.

I'm studying cosmetology and the best thing that i can think of for your hair is to use Paul Mitchel's Color Protection Shampoo and Conditioner It will soften your hair and make it shine. For you split ends you need to go get your hair trimmed. Getting shampoo and conditioner isn't going to make the ends that are damaged and dead come back so you need to get them cut off. To get rid of frizzy hair i use GLASS DROPS. Put that in your hair before you flat iron it and it will leave it frizz free and smooth.

Try Sunsilk leave in spray conditioner. I love this stuff! You can use it on wet or dry hair. It leaves my hair so soft and shiny. Also, Pantene Ice Shine works nicely to give a smooth and shiny surface. I always leave my conditioner on for 5 minutes before rinsing it out. And this my sound fussy, but I put Neutrogena Triple Moisture on the ends after I apply my other conditioner. I find it too rich for my whole head but it works great on mending those split ends. Then after you towel dry your hair, spritz on the Sunsilk and comb it through. This should give you just what you are looking for.

Hope this helps.

I have the same type of hair. I use Pantene for color treated/deeply damaged hair. Most magazines would tell you to do a hot oil treatment. I've never used one, but they supposedly block out humidity, which is likely part of your problem. If you have damaged hair, the cuticles (they are like scales on your hair) stand upright instead of being smooth. Make sure whatever conditioner and shampoo you choose has silicone. It is great for making your hair behave. I also use Sun Silk hair lotion in the pink bottle. It helps calm my hair down. When you dry your hair with a hairdryer, avoid holding your head upside-down. This causes the cuticles to stand up even more. Try to keep your head upright. With all your split ends, you are obviously in need of a good haircut. A blunt haircut rather than layers tends to lay flat better, fewer fly-aways. The heat damage you are doing to your hair by straightening it is actually making your problem worse. When you dry your hair, use alligator clips to part your hair into sections. Use a thick roller brush (just a brush, not a curling iron) to turn your hair under or use a brush meant for "smoothing" hair when you dry your hair. If you work in sections, it is easier to dry your hair more evenly rather than over-drying certain sections. Never dry your hair completely. You want it still slightly damp. Anti-frizz serums work, but I have such thick hair that I would have to use a whole bottle to do any good. Leave-in conditioners are great for the silky look. I use Infusiim 23. It is fabulous. I wash my hair with shampoo, condition it for three minutes, towel dry my hair gently and then spritz it with the Infusium, then use styling products like hair gels or the Sun Silk in the pink bottle, and dry my hair. You'll notice a difference the first time you use the leave-in conditioner and styling techniques.
