Yup, I'm a colourist so I can help you out with this one.

For medium brown hair to get to a white shade, you'd need to use a 40 volume peroxide (strongest) and leave it on the streak of hair you want to bleach for 1-2 hours. Keep checking it as it progresses but don't take it off too soon as you will be left with something yellowy orange. For a white shade you really do need to leave it on quite a long time for it to process. If you do not reach the desired shade, get it as light as you can and then on top of it put a toner - which can be a a regular box of dye in the colour that you wish, this could help you get the 'white' that you want.

It is hard to acheive this shade but not impossible. I always tell my cliesnt, nothing is impossible and don't listen to salons who tell you it is!

It may be worth doing this in a salon, but if not you can get some good at home 40 volume bleach kits, Stargazers is a good one. Make sure you cover the rest of your hair so the part you are bleaching does not rest against it and give you blotches! A salon will probably charge you not far from 鎷?00 for this but you can get the kits for under a tenner, perhaps involve a friend to help you.
